Yes, that's the one, the top could have a small angle head added, which makes it easier with still cameras. They are exceedingly well made, typical Swiss precision. It was reported in Modern Photography that each was assembled by one technician only, no production line.
I have two, one came cheap from ebay, because it was painted over the black anodising, which was removed to reveal pretty a good black finish, with a few minor scratches. I wiped over some black car colour restorer wax, and it looks like new now. If the rubber tip wears out, then a rubber door stop can be fitted in it's place.

Rachel, your post made me look at ebay, and there was a boxed example, good condition, and instead of the typical price of up to £70, he had it at £19.95, buy it now, too too tempting!.....so I now have three! I did see three turned into a very good tripod many years ago....... Now I am after the Bolex Minipod, the preying mantis type tripod, but prices on them are usually over £100. They are made in the same style as the monopod, and the same Swiss engineering.

Years ago a shop at Glacis in Geneva sold remaindered Alpa stuff. They also had an "Alpa" monopod, but as I imperfectly recall, that had a bit of red paint and a larger head. I was quite content with my Linhof monopod, so just passed by.

An Alpa Monopod? ...that's got to a really rare item! I assume they might have made a tripod, but with Alpa they had a tendency to buy in accessories from other good quality makers.
