One of the lots was an Agfaflex IV, with eye level and waist level viewfinder, 35mm, 50mm and 135mm lenses, and ERC. It would have made a nice addition to the collection. Unfortunately, it sold for more than I was prepared to go to. Across the road from the auction house is an "Op Shop". I've looked there many times, and found no cameras. I passed it on my way back to the car, and in the window was a camera display. I bought a nice Spotmatic F, a Pentax telephoto lens, and a lens hood for my Kodak Retina.

From what i can see on the picture, this looks like a very fine example of an "F" even the everready case seems like new.Even if i got a few myselve i buy them whenever one pops up at a reasenable price, not only these are fine cameras, it's my guess prices on early( post '60ties) pentaxes can only go up from here on both as collector and as "user" cameras.(you won't get rich investing in them though :-) ) The pré 1960 models seem to be going down in price but that seems to be a trend with all makes, maybe these models have fallen from grace a bit as they are pure collectors items and cannot be used in a practical way, where overpriced in the past, or more of them coming back on the market because of older collectors (or their heirs) getting rid of their collection (supply and demand).

The dealer who bought the Agfaflex at the auction, in post 1, put it up for sale on our local online auction site. I watched the auctions - there seemed to be little interest in the camera. Last night, it was offered to watchers on the auction, at a price I could afford - I bought it! The lenses need a clean, but the camera operates as it should - the shutter is accurate at 1 second, and the light meter agrees with my hand held Sekonic selenium meter. Once the lenses are sorted, I'll load it with a roll of the Kentmere film, and see how it goes.

I've cleaned the lenses, as best I could. The ring that retains the front elements on each, appears to be locked by glue or paint, so they had to be left. The wide angle lens, unfortunately, has quite a bit of dirt between the front elements. I was able to remove the rear elements, and clean them. The camera now has a film loaded.
