I was surprised to find in one of my local antique shops a large folding camera with a very large hood-like viewfinder enclosure with the word Ihagee on the front and a Tessar lens. £220 . On returning home I find that it is a Ihagee Patent Klapp reflex from about 1926. I know about the Ihagee Exakta range but was quite intrigued by this one.

Did you consider buying it? Did the proprietor know what he was selling, or had he just priced it at £220 as it was old?

No, I wasn't really interested in buying it, I was just intrigued because I had never seen one before, the shop seems to hold various items for private sellers so I didn't ask about the history. There is a Pentax Spotmatic with an ordinary lens on it in a cabinet with a price tag of over £100 so it is not a place to look for real bargains.
