I've had a canon EF as long as i remember in my collection. But i was never able to test it as one of the battery covers was missing (the EF has 2) Finding a fitting battery cover was next to impossible so it just sat on the shelve amongst the others, probably working but not shure. A stroke of luck got another EF coming my way, this one complete and with batteries. I paid for the complete EF (without lens) about the same amount i would have got to pay if i really really wanted a battery cover and a set of batteries. I,ve put the batteries in my "old" EF and borrowed a battery cover from the "new" EF and presto, it came to life working just fine! So now i've got two working EF's but still missing one battery cover
