Last year, when i finally found a Miranda G ( wich is the ultimate Miranda) the smile on my face dissapeared when it arrived home. The camera was advertised as a Miranda camera, look at the pics for more info, i was tricked in believing the camera wasn't in top chape, but good allround all togheter. What didn't show in the pictures and (thoughtfully) forgotten in its description was it didn't have a focussing screen.
Now with Nikon or Canon seperate focussing screens can rather easely be found, with Miranda that's a diffrent story. I was able to locate one in the US. but the seller demanded a ridiculous price (80$) wich made it a definate no-no for me. So the G was put by the rest of the Miranda collection in the knowledge it was most likely never to be complete again. But as in many cases, good things come to those who wait and i found someone here in Belgium who happened to have a batch of "new old stock" Miranda itmes, amongst them a lovely GF focussing screen.
Only 10€ and P&P brought it to my door, the seller was so kind to put in a brand new Miranda sunshade for the 50mm in original packing as a gift alongside my purchase so all in all i think i've got a good deal and the G is now complete!
One of my vows for 2018 is that i would stop buying cameras, as to be honest, i think ive got everything i allways wanted, im gonna try to stick to that vow and try to concentrate in checking all off my 200+ cameras if they are still working or if they need maintenance or spare parts. I'm gonna try to force myselve to get rid of some of my doubles to free up some space even if it means i will lose (quite) some money on them. And oh yeah i allso vowed to get out more and do what cameras are made for, take pictures with them!
