The button wich releases the prism on the topcon super DM is stuck in the release position. This came from years of no use, nothing is broken, it's just stuck. I was wondering if i could use lighter fuel, or triclor ethane or any other solvent to unblock the button, without having to resort to tearing the camera down and without causing damage. Or would some fine oil and some patience be a safer option? Anyone any experience with such a problem?

I think I would try a tiny drop of oil and some very gentle tapping before I would use solvents.
Solvents such as petroleum distillates (lighter fluid, naphtha) and trichloroethylene will dissolve organic materials like grease and oil, but won't provide any lubrication and won't help with any rust or corrosion that may be present.
