I've finally found a yashica 44 LM to complete my 44 series. There's only three 44 variations: the cranck wind 44, the somewhat simpeler knob wind 44A and the (knob wind) 44 LM so it wasn't that hard of a job to get the line complete. The LM differs from the other 44's not only by having a build in Light Meter but also rollei TLR style shutter and aperture controls. There's rumours that there's a fourth model, but those are rumours, never seen one...
The 44's came in a lot of color trim variations, but only the brave will be able to find (and pay for) those. Yashica TLR's are quikly going up in value over the last 5 years i've seen their prices double or even triple. Don't know if they have reached their peak but as an example : i bought a Yashica mat 124 a few years back for some 80€, back then i've felt i might have paid to much. But then i saw prices increasing to 135 € and thought okay that will be it, i was wrong... the last one i saw was a silly 370€. I hope the TLR's aren't a hype like the Yashica electro35's, after the market got flooded with those the initial high prices dropped very fast and up on till today didn't recover.
