This 1966 chrome F with F36 motordrive and cordless battery pack has recently arrived and will join the rest of the F collection. It is to say the least not in top chape. The chrome is pitted to a level where i wonder if it can be polished to give it a more acceptable look. Black cameras with serious brassing are often considered to be "professional" chrome ones just look worn out... On the positive side, it has no dings , dents or scratches wich is rare for a used camera of that age. The F works well but it won't work with the F36, at this point i don't know why. The photomic finder has some mold inside the prism, again i don't know if i can fix that, the prism will have to be dismanteled to see if it can be cleaned or if the mold has damaged the mirror coating on the prism block. If all else fails i can put one of my spare F backs on the body and it will become a "normal"F still got a spare photomic prism so that can be swapped to. But it's my aim to get this combination presentable and working again (some day )

Some good and some bad news on the chrome F36. First the good, the pitted chrome cleaned up well, i've found a more period correct Photomic F finder and the cordless battery pack is working correctly. Now the bad, the F36 motordrive still won't work with the F, without the motor the F behaves correctly, with the motor the shutter slips and won't cock. Because the F36 motordrives are tailored to one F body, they can't be switched to another one to see if it'll work there, so it will need fixing on it's matched body. I'll look in to that when i have some more time. Meanwhile the new arrival sits nicely between its relatives.
