Would an Europaflex by any other name be as sweet? I've bought this Europaflex jus tbecause of its funny name. After doing some research i've found out that the Europaflex is just one of the many brands wich was used to sell these TLR's worldwide, depending on the market it got a "local" name. These are the brands it was sold as: Accuraflex Crownflex Daflex Deitzflex Europaflex Hacoflex Hilkaflex Kinoflex Lionflex Metarflex Metascoflex Miloflex Mirroflex Novelties Prince Junior (late version with capital letters) Proskar Rippaflex Skyflex Starflex (postwar) Trioflex Zenoflex. It has to be the cheapest TLR i've bought by far, still it is a good camera, it's well made, heavy and has a bright focussing screen (brighter than a rolleicord for sure!). i don't know for it's optical performance but the tri lausar 8cm 1:3.5 can't be to bad i guess. Overall it's a simple TLR, no double exposure prevention,Max 1/300th shutter, knob wind film transport...all in all i still think it is an asset to the (any) TLR collection and for the brave not to bad as a user camera. As i've said i got mine dirt cheap but from what i've seen on the net (asking) prices are all over the place.

Was it made in Japan?
Should be a decent user camera, within its limits. Sometimes a bright screen compensates other shortcomings. After all you use the screen every time, while large apertures or very fast speeds are not needed as often.
