I was able to buy this Asahiflex IIb wich is an historically important camera as it is the first (mass produced) SLR featuring an instant return mirror. Launched in 1954 it got company in 1955 by the IIA model (wich may be a bit confusing as the "B" comes before the "A") The "A" was improved by adding the slow shutter speeds below 1/25 sec (Leica style) A bit of a problem with these early asahi slr's is their uncommon M37 screw mount resulting in a very limited choise of lenses. Alledged production numbers IIB 19.500 units, IIA 20.745 units some of wich were marketed in the US as "Tower 22"

The Praktiflex had an "instant return mirror", in 1939...gravity operated.
