Curt, Here is a link to some info about the Burstein-Applebee company with the logo: www.ominous-valve.com/burstein_applebee.html I think the "boat anchor" they refer to is a general reference to the big transfomer in old vacuum tube radios. I have found B-A catalog pages posted around the web, but only electronic gear, no cameras. The manual I have is identical to the one on Butkus site for the Taron auto EE, except for the cover and camera photo. Even the photos of the model are the same. There is a Auto EE-1 for sale on the bay (not mine) that has the manual in the photo. This forum seems to fit my idea of the hobby better than the others that are more focused on the photography. I like to aquire old cameras that have been discarded and bring them back to life. I love to see the look on people's faces when they say "You took this picture with THAT?" Ron

I realize that this is an old thread, but I am new to the forum. This summer I aquired a BA "AUTO" EE-1. I've seen a few references on the web to BA standing for Boots Amica, however, on the manual there is a distictive logo and the words "Burstein-Applebee". They were a mail order business specializing in amateur radio equipment, similar to Radio Shack. I ran a test roll and was very pleased with the results.
