I have considered cutting out the divider in the battery compartment to fit a lithium cell in my Hi-matic F. I have too many other projects to do first.

I have used 1.5 volt batteries in my SRT and the exposure has always been fine with print film. The processing easily adjusts for any minor differences.

I am a volunteer firefighter and we set up landing zones for our Life Flight helicopter service, so I have seen the same view many times. However, I am usually preoccupied with the safety of the LZ, so I only have gotten a couple pictures over the years. Thanks for sharing.

I have a 35 ECR. It limits you to full Auto exposure, but it does a good job of it.

My first 35mm camera was a Vito II that my dad loaned to me when I was in high school. It was destroyed when their basement flooded a few years ago, but I recently acquired another one. It also has the Color-Skopar lens and Syncro-Compur shutter. It also came with a leather case. Getting the camera brought back a lot of memories.

Most people find auxiliary lenses a pain to use on a rangefinder because of the procedure to focus. You have to focus first, then read the distance off the scale, then reset the focus for the correction according to the scale on the auxiliary lens. As I recall, the Yashica lenses didn't offer much wider or closer views than the normal lens. It is nice to have the lenses to complete the set, so good luck on finding the viewfinder.

I remember my dad having a white Coronet like that. I think he traded it for a Plymouth Fury sedan.

I have a Kalimar K-90 that looks like it came out of the same mold as the Phenix DC888k.

I bought an FE2 a couple of years ago at an antique mall. It didn't have a lens, but it was only $10, and I figured I would run across a lens some day. So, now I have a lens, but the shutter speeds are making no sense at all. Every speed acts differently, depending on if the battery is installed or not. The fast speeds stay open for 2-4 seconds, A is about 1/15, some speeds act like Bulb. It is supposed to have a mechanical speed of 1/250 for if the battery is dead, but when I take out the battery, the shutter stays open. With the battery in, it looks about right. I thought that it would work only on M250 if there was no battery, but 1/125 looks about right.
Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?
Thanks, Ron

I recently bought a 7xi because the lot included an off-camera flash adapter and a nice bag. When the package arrived, I found it also included a 50mm/f1.7 lens that was not in any of the descriptions or photos. They normally sell for more than I paid for the whole lot, including shipping.

I have bid on a 9000, but no luck so far. I have several of the Dynax/Maxxum line. The quest started when I was looking for a camera to go with the lens from my wife's broken Maxxum 5. I finally did get another 5, but also a 7000, 7000i, 5000i, 3000i, 5000, QTsi, STsi, & 70, along with a bunch of lenses and other accessories. I would like to get a Sony dslr so I can use the lenses.

I had a Ricoh AF-2 once, one of several early auto focus cameras that I bought that summer. All of them cost between $1 and $3. The pictures came out okay, but the winder sounded like a coffee grinder. I heard other Ricohs sounded the same. I sold it for what I paid for it, but I kept the 46 mm filter.

"I don't know what to eat tonight, you?" Guess what that means... Hans I was thinking it meant "Which restaurant do you want to take me to?"

It's always nice when you can breathe life back into a camera that someone else had left for dead.

I was at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the Saturday before a race when I heard a low rumble approaching. A pair of B-17s was flying low over the front straight. I told my son it seemed an odd thing to do on the day before the race, when it struck me, they rehearsing for Sunday. The next day, when the Star Spangled Banner was playing, I had my camera ready, and was rewarded as they flew right over my seat.
