Thanks everyone .
I bought a Fujichome X-Pro 1 body on impulse ,@ £160 . I can't justify a lens , so it will be adapted to CV 35 f2.5. To my surprise , it's thinner , but not a lot smaller then my Leica Digilux 3 . It's crazy , but I think I will take the Leica Digilux 3 or Pansonic L1 with a pair of Olympus kit lenses . Why ? Because I just love using it and 7mp means more shots per card . It's all about pleasure , and the Dig 3 is close to an analogue camera - complete with squinty finder , albeit SLR !!!
Maybe the Sony A35 and 35mm f1.8 - reasonably compact and useful for low light shots [ If I had a 35 [£300] for the X-pro , it would not be required ]
Thanks for the warning about condensation.

You are right of course , but I wanted the kit when they first came out at £1500 , i have checked the receipt - it was £158 + adapter £10 = £168 , not too expensive . I can just hope that the system , like my Minolta Alpha / Olympus 4/3rds become discontinued .
Like the Panasonic L1 , I just love the style and the quality for the money .
Maybe it's the collector thing , but I can't wait to try it out with the M39 CV 35 f2.5. dee

OK , it was just £180 NEW .
I had seen one before at silly money , still over £600 at John Lewis but it is so like a proper [film] camera .
I can't afford the £300 35 f2 lens , [ gotta buy a car ] so a Leica M adapter for the Color Scopar 35 f 2.5 areMD is pending - apparently , it's bit of a pain with legacy lenses but it's so gorgeous - reminiscent of my fave Panasonic L1 .
Have you ever bought a camera without having a lens for it ? Crazy !!

We have been invited with most of my Chinese wife's family for two weeks in Malaysia . We just don't do holidays - the last time to Malaysia was 1974 , with a trip to Canada in between !!
I guess that space/weight will be at a premium , so have no idea what to take .
I.m hoping to put a small camera bag into the luggage which hold one DSLR at a time .
I am thinking the reasonably compact Sony A35 , which , with the Sony 35mm f1.8 is useful for low light . The rather oversized A390 with the pair of standard zooms plus my favourite Minolta 35-70 [ 42.5-105 ] .
I am quite OK with the IQ of kit lenses as I am purely a snapshooter .
I can't really justify a 4/3rds compact camera which would be sensible , but it would be EVF again , which might not be ideal in bright conditions . I could adapt it to my 135 Rokkor which is a fave lens of mine - but more to carry !!
Is two Sony bodies with 4x lenses not too OTT ?
Regards

To adopt another obscure UK expression - that Registration is just NOT cricket in UK - can someone translate ?
HOWEVER _ RESULT!!
Brand new Beetle in Platinum arriving from Mexico ,should be here late June/early July .
Hopefully my tired Alfa Romeo 147 with engine management light warning me , will hold out until then !
It's gone up to £17000 with delivery from the Midlands dealer who chased the car for me , Alloy Whizz Wheels [ Twister ] which are intended to make it sporty , i guess but just makes it look like a toy and which rather upsets the Art Deco purity that I prefer .The grey is fairly architectural and minimalist which suits me , as a designer .
If they do bring out a revised model , I should not lose too much on trade in BUT it would be another £3000 or so . I hope to simply get accustomed to it and relish the savings !
Of course , a more upright 5 door would be more sensible at approaching 70 , I have lived with a 3 for Coupe Alfa 147 with too wide doors for 12 years and swore never again ... the Alfa was style over substance [ VW Golf ] I guess and the Beetle is somewhat the same as a Golf with a similar spec would be £2000 more , but I love curves !

Cosina clone often had f1.7 lenses . I wonder if this was a marketing ploy , 'cos the difference from f 1.8 must be minimal ? dee

The Zodel has had a mirror transplant from a rough Prinzflex , with a Chinon 50 f1.7 lens I had , plus the de-badged Prinzflex case , so I finally have my sister camera !

My daughter has bought a sister model of the Prinzflex badged as Zodel - it was sold by Wallace Heaton as featured in the 1970 Blue Book catalogue.
Dixons and Wallace Heaton were virtually opposite one another when I escaped from clothes shopping in Bond St London.
I chose the Prinxflex because of the front mounted shutter dial [ like Praktica ]. The Zodel has the conventional top mounted dial .
Dixons had many more stores , so many more Prinxflex cameras were made than the Zodel . It appears that Cosina would sell batches to dealer , introducing a modified model a year later.
This rather tired body , with broken mirror , is the first I have found on ebay , but at £6 , I had to have it. Maybe I will take the mirror from my worst Prinxflex to fix it .
I had imagined that the Zodel was painted black on brass , unlike the Prinxflex , when I discovered too late , that it was painted over the chrome !!!
However , from the photos , just the top plate , which is engraved rather than an added logo , is black on brass . Weird cost cutting so that all components are chromed .

I recently read an appraisal of my 1st SLR - Prinzflex badged Cosina repaired and compared to a Spotmatic.
It appears that the quality was pretty reasonable , with the Copal Square shutter which , together with the price advantage , convinced me ! My recent e-bay purchases all seem to work well with the exception of a loose mirror which I fixed , but this may be because , being so strictly budget/amateur/no name cameras they received less usage .
I wonder if economies of scale in producing the same camera with different identities to so many markets , may have enabled economy pricing ... though it seems that my £90 would be nearer £1300 if bought today !!
I love my subsequent SRTs , but the Prinzflex still fits me perfectly !!

I have finally found a Panasonic LX 100 to pick up as it seems to be the perfect go-anywhere camera for me.
Unfortunately , it just did not feel OK for me - again confirming that a camera has to feel right for each individual. It had nothing to do with the size or quality , just it not working for me .
it was a title disappointing as the fast zoom , no problems with sensor dust and acceptable rendition would be fine for me .
