Neat video Mickey. Did you see some idiot said they were tortured to make them do that? Randy, I don't know how an elephant expresses itself but Suda swaying back and forth waiting for her keeper to reload the brush seems to me to be exhibiting eager anticipation. If she were bored or did not like what she was doing it would not take more than a stamp of her foot to rid her of her "oppressor" forever. I have only been close to live elephants once - at the Toronto zoo. They were being led by their keeper or handler or servant from their quarters to a nearby river where these great beautiful creations froliced like children. I believe they exhibited joy. They were always mindful of and attentive to their young. They are not very far removed from humans. Mickey

Last week I was interviewed about the books I've been writing by Independence Television, in Clarkston, Michigan.
Be prepared, it's about a 24-minute interview and I don't mention cameras at all.

My interests besides cameras, are writing, cooking, reading. I also enjoy camping, hiking and horseback riding whenever I get the chance.
I'm really not much into spectator sports anymore, but I do wish we could get up a community geezer soccer league. I think that would be a lot of fun, and pretty funny (at least in my case).

Currently, my main hobby is counting down the days to retirement, after which I will hopefully have time for an abundance of hobbies. 8 weeks and 1 day remaining.

I'm still writing my novel(s) the story is so big that I have split it into two books. Here is a link to a sample chapter from the first book. This has been expanded and modified a couple of times since I put it online. My character is sixteen and the year is 1979. Warning sex, blood, foul language and lots of other disgusting stuff... Luck: Handjob Secrets

Definitely no novel writing, but plenty of book collecting, model railways, model engineering, electronics and computers. I started collecting any detective short stories other than Sherlock Holmes, but ended up with a vast Holmes collection anyway!....and a large collection of stories of his rivals, mainly in bound copies of the original Victorian and Edwardian magazines...several hundred of them.
Latterly I have moved on to the so called golden era detective stories of the 20's onwards, trying to steer clear of Agatha Christie, as I have hers in paperbacks! Mainly collecting all the works of R.Austin Freeman. His novels and short stories stretched from 1900 to the 1940's, staring his medico legal detective, Dr Thornd**e, who gives Sherlock Holmes a run for his money!
Another collecting thread in the books are ghost stories, especially from Authors mainly known for other works, like E Nesbit, the Edwardian Childrens story writer, who also wrote very good ghost and horror tales.

good work Phil.. my kind of story Bob Thanks Bob. I've been writing more this weekend. I'm up to a couple of hundred pages. The chapter here is based on a real concert in Manchester. I never went to it but Dave (who appears in it) played there and he helped with the general atmosphere. I enjoyed writing this chapter. Later chapters are a mixture of funny situations and seriously dangerous ones. I just wrote a chapter where my character was being seduced by an older woman. Hilarious.

I work permanent night shift so I like to get out and about walking which goes hand in hand with photography although I need the sun to really enjoy it. I used to head into the hills in the winter but with every passing year the cold/wind seems to bite a little more. I draw and dabble with printing/painting, being creative in any medium is very satisfying and good for my soul. Electronics was an early hobby which would became a career for a time makes an occasional appearance, normally when something needs to be repaired it sparks some sort of youthful enthusiasm long forgotten. I keep a lazy eye on loud speaker enclosure design, indie game scene and programming. I used to be an on-line gamer but now it’s just very occasional bursts, mostly in the winter months when I have caught up with all other projects. The only sport that is an interest would be boxing which I inherited from my grandfather. I try to read often but judging by the pile of unread books I am somewhat failing on that front.

Glad you joined us, Paul.
Sorry I am a little late. Preparing my income tax rubbish for my accountant has had me in a tizzy. But that agony is over for another year.
