I've tried to avoid collecting -- just wanted a few good users. Then a few more. Sold some but got even more... I've recently added a Canonet QL17 GIII, QL19 and a pristine Yashica Electro 35 to my 'users'. Guess maybe I'm a collector after all Gene

Hi Gene, Yep, you're a collector alright, LOL. See, the dark side isn't such a bad place after all. Now just remember, Curt gets to do all the eBay bottom feeding and cheapie sniping.

I keep looking in my cabinet and think that I amost have a very good 1950s RF collection. I have an M3, Canon IVSB2 and VT on the way. I have a Contax IIa and 50/1.5 in line at Henry Scherer's Contax spa. I simply don't want to go into FSU stuff, too many possibilities. But, I am starting to think that a Nikon will look nice next to its old foes. An S2 may be the most affordable, but perhaps I can find a nice cheap S3? After that, I am done, no more!!! (yeah, right

There's comfort in knowing you're not alone Gene

You're definitely not alone here, Gene! I don't think I started out to be a collector either...I was just interested in some of the old Mamiya 35mm cameras...well, 150+ cameras later (and I branched out considerably from Mamiya), I still find myself prowling flea markets, estate sales and eBay! ;D

Guess I am still in the range of 75 and out of space really.
I am not sure if anyone starts out intending to be a collector but we sure end up there quickly.
The other problem I have is that to get to my bedroom I have to go through my den where all my lil' babies are. Nowadays I cannot pickup and cuddle them all so just give a general hi to them when I pass through and hear..."play with me, daddy".
But...oh...it is fun!!! And even more fun to shoot the old workable ones.

Hi Walker! It's those dratted fixed-lens rangefinders that are the worst culprits, for me. They're so inexpensive yet so desirable... Gene

I finally got around to taking a photo of the two Canonets. The QL19 (on the right) is from the 60's. The QL17 GIII is from the 70's. Both are nice shooters! The Yashica Electro 35 needed to be sent out for some repairs and is on its way back to me. Gene

Started out swith one Zorki 1. Four years later I have at least one of every FED and Zorki model -- about 40 cameras (of course there are a lot of variations of the various models I don't have). Although virtually all are operational (thanks Oleg) I seldom shoot them. So, I guess I'm a collector. I have already warned my spouse, however, that when I'm gone, sellection won't pay for even a pine box funeral. Nikon struff is starting to accumulate, too but I shoot with that equipment so I don't think it qualifies as a collection.

I have a functioning Argus C3 on its way to me. I had no reason whatever to get one other than I've always wanted one. They're so ugly, they're cool.

Gene,
