Hi, I'm Carl and I live near Northwich in Cheshire, England.
I have been interested in photography since my childhood and my first camera was a 110 cartridge film format. I soon realised the limitations with these cameras so I started saving up to buy my first 35mm SLR which was a Pentax MX. I was about 17 years old at this stage and was still at college.
A few years on and I worked at a photographic store (about 4 years altogether) where I also learned how to process and print my own black & white films, which I still do today, although not as often as I would like to.
I switched over to Nikon in the early 1990's and over the years have built up a small collection of manual bodies and several 'ai' and 'ais' lenses, which I enjoy using to this day.
My main photographic interests are landscapes and architecture. I tend to shoot only in black & white nowadays and haven't used colour film for several years now.
Thank you for reading this.
Regards, Carl.

Welcome, Carl, from Lincoln.
Wide range of interests and experience here. I am more interested in Zeiss and Voigtlander myself but share your interest in black and white landscape and architecture.

Carl, welcome from the other end of the old County Palatine of Cheshire. We might not be Cheshire these days, but at least we have a CH postcode! Years and years ago I worked a few days at Pimblotts shipyard.
Dave.

Thank you very much Hye and Dave for the warm welcome, it's greatly appreciated.
Dave, the Wirral is a beautiful area. The last time I was around there was to visit Ness Botanic Gardens, a fabulous place.

Hi. Welcome.
I was born and raised in Nottingham but have been a Kiwi now for 50 years. I learned photography in the '50s, my first camera was a Bessa II then when I went to 35mm a Voigtlander Vito II. I can still remembe the very first phot o I ever took , of my mum when I was about 4 yrs old, with my dad's Kodak Autographic Jnr No 1.

Well you started photography at an earlier age than me, I think I was around 8 or 9 years old when I was given my first camera for Christmas which was a 110 format. I'm guessing my first pictures with it would have been of my parents, but I most probably took pictures of just about anything.
