An Orchid at the window. David Cannot figure out how to link an image from Flicker. Any help from someone? I see how to grab the link, copy and paste but it never seems to work with Flicker. Photobucket has become so much more useful since they improved their site. OK... Flicker is the wrong place to place images if you ever want them back. My fault. Unfortunately I lost the drive that had the originals. From now on, I use Photobucket where they have vastly improved their utility in the past year. What will happen to digital images in ten years or so? Digital images are far more fragile when it comes to archiving for the average person. Film strips are still better AFAIsee. Just like the disposable expensive plastic digital cameras of the week are.

Talking of shelter, U for Underneath the arches, Jameos Del Agua, Lanzarote, Canary Islnds, Spain. Created by volcanic activity these cave waters house a blind albino crab: the only place in the world this species live. This holiday was the try-out of my new Panasonic FX200. Had I taken my Canon DSLR and its accessories I'm sure I would have got better shots of the cave and the crabs. I think too, with a bit more time getting used to the FZ200 would have been beneficial. The pictures produced, even at ISO 100, is much noisier than the Canon but one can't argue with its big zoom range at a constant f2.8 in a camera weighing about a quarter of the Canon with (smaller range) zoom lens.

V is for Vigili del Fuoco. I had been walking around among some Roman ruins on the edge of a high cliff when a brush fire broke out below in a canyon. David
