Not collectible may be, but interesting camera. The serial begins with 86, from 1986? And, it has Nikon F mount, here mounted Nikkor Ai 50/2.0. Non-ai Nikkors mounts as well, I suspect Nikon AF lenses with aperture ring also works. Internal light meter, powered by two silver oxide button cells. In good condition, the shutter is really soft to trigger. All mechanical, the dials an levers operate smooth, stop down metering. Will return with some images in a day or two.

I also have this camera, a Maxxum 7000. Minolta had a head start compared to other makers at the time. Even today the Maxxum 7000 focus fast enough to be usable. It is faster than manual focus a lens. I have used the camera photographing our cats and dogs, with great result.
Some Minolta glass can be had fairly cheap, I often use the AF 100-200/4.5 - a sharp lens with good colors. Also I must express how good the viewfinder is, big and bright - almost better than most consumer digital SLR of today. Too bad Minolta did not make it later.
As Minolta is gone, I feel the cameras and lenses will in some years be highly collectible. Starting today makes sense, as prices later will increase, and amount of cameras decrease.

Very nice and interesting Miranda, looks in really good condition. Photo snobbery is not a new trade... ..almost always by photo-professionals-lookalikes. The real professional photographers more care for the fees than what equipment used. Who would spot a difference in the image taken with Miranda or other camera, none.
At the end of the film period, around year 2000, I purchased a used Minolta lens in a camera shop. I could hear when the gentleman went for the lens in the other room claimed how low life person which purchased this bad lens. Photo snobbery!

Not much info about this lens on the net... Any good lens, or average performance? Wonder if it is a standard m39 mount, fitting both leica and fed/other russians. I searched ebay, no hits for this lens, only the faster siblings.

I mixed up Phil's Zorki 2C with a Mir. But what is the difference internally between a Fed 2 vs Mir or Zorki 2C without slower speeds? Are they based on the same construction, and do they share the same reliability? Or is the Mir a special reliabile camera, better than anything russian?

For small photo editing tasks, an online photo editor could be handy. There are a lot of them, my pick is Photoshop express editor. It is easy to use and not cluttered with menus/choices. An online editor could be nice if your own computer is not available or when travelling, other uses too. No installation, perfect as a beginner photo editor, or saving some bucks using a free simple editor.

Darn it. The camera slipped, due to delay in Paypal transaction. Well, I got the Picture anyway... Will follow if the seller relist. Could be fun having a rare camera, even if it's not much worth.

The Leica looks in awesome condition, is it as good as it looks? Also the Russians are truly nice cameras. Your way of displaying the cameras in the setup are very professional. Is it a Mir you have? How do you consider it as a user camera? Have heard nice things about it. And I want one myself!

Strange camera, never heard of it. Is it rare and collectible, or more common?

Nikon Df looks like a real camera - very handsome too! It could be a new trend in design and ergonomics of digital cameras?

I love those simple cameras. Everything focused on the image, no clutter. Wish they could make such a simple digital camera, aperture and shutter setting, a light meter. Images could be saved in raw format, for later editing (the digital negative and printing). I agree, but people want features and widgets that they'd never use in a month of sundays. You are quite right, and I suspect manufacturers are listening to all customers, leaving cluttered menus as a result. It could be fun if one manufacturer had the courage to create such a simple digital camera. Creating higher quality camera, even upgradable as those early Leicas. Another feature could be leaving all menus blank as a starting point, each user add what menu to be active?

Sony A7 full frame is not a bad Choice, and a Choice for the future. Most likely it will last for 10 years before upgrading is Worth the Investment. Why did you discard Nikon?
