I have been looking up some Rolleiflex historical notes. It seems that the original SL35 differs from the SL 35E and SL35M etc. because it was based on the Voigtlander VSL 1 & 2 & 3E............

Arrived today. A Rolleiflex SL35 E that works. Short of putting a film in it everything seems OK. Came with a good ERC, instruction book and a working 'National' flashgun.

Perhaps somebody will open up a Cosina or Ricoh and show us. I have a mint Vivitar V6000 in black that is a Cosina design but I don't want to disturb the screws to take the base cover off.
I have been looking at Rolleiflex cameras on ebay, today, it seems that it is now 'silly' season for SL 35's of Singapore manufacture. There is one SL35E body with two Tamron lenses at £275 or offers! To put other cameras on at £200 and £250 with no full explanation of cosmetic or working condition seems very, very speculative, even £100 for a very good SL35E with Planar f1.8 lens seems like too much to me and a great gamble for future operating integrity.

After a bit of looking around, I found............Walker Cameras of Sealand, Flintshire, North Wales. They were making a large format camera, currently make pinhole cameras. Worth a look at their website.

He's put two Rolleiflex listings on again. As soon as you click on them a big red warning comes up. Needs dealing with by ebay. (Not possible to report them.)

I wonder if I am becoming a Rollei addict. I have just bought a SL35E apparently in very good condition. I will report on it when it arrives, probably next week. I will then have two good ones, two bad ones and three good ERC.
Just arrived, see new post.

Thanks, I have managed to get the back open. I do not think there are any holes in the bellows. The number on the back of the lens is 513942.

I opened the bottom plate of my German made SL35 and gave it a little careful lubrication of the parts of the wind-on and linkages that I could see, avoiding the shutter. This was because of a certain stiffness in the wind-on. Otherwise it works perfectly. I compared the mechanism of the German one with that of a Singapore made SL35 E. Nothing in common apparently. Singapore model at bottom.

Fresh from my local car boot sale a Glunz roll film camera, 120 film and 6 x 9 cm in fairly poor cosmetic condition. On the front face of the shutter area it says 'Original Gaultier', on the shutter setting dial it says 'Pronto' the speeds are 'T' 'B' and 100, 50 and 25. The f numbers are 4.5, 6.3, 9, 12.5, 18, 25, 36. Unfortunately I think that the front element of the lens is missing, though I am not sure. I cannot get the back open, although the catch moves. I have done some research on it and it was made in Hannover, probably in the 1920's by G. Glunz & Sohn Kamerawerk.

I was watching a Rolleiflex SL35E with 50mm Planar on ebay up to this morning. It was listed as for parts or repair. The shutter was jammed and the lens could not be removed. From the photo it was obvious that the lens had been mounted at the wrong angle. I was prepared to go to £20 and take a chance that the damage to the lens was not too bad. It eventually sold for £39.99 which I think is too much. (Shabby Chuc again)!!!

This might be connected with the Rolleiflex Digital back listings that have been reported on in the last few days.

The other item next to it that he had posted provoked a big red warning flash up on my screen. He needs his membership withdrawn. Rapidly.

There seems to be no limit to this person's persistence. He has put it on ebay again, I have reported him again.
