Dear Reporter,
This is indeed a horror story. I hope you come out "whole" at the end.
With best regards and wishes,

Dear belgiumreporter, Thanks for starting this! It's nice to see a little science used to evaluate a lens. Setting this kind of thing up is detail-oriented and time consuming. You are to be commended for undertaking it! I look forward to seeing an eventual comparison library. I used a similar setup some years ago when I got into a discussion about focus-shift with aperture setting on another forum. Here's a PDF with my test results: link to PDF

Dear John,
This seems like a brave effort! Did it measurably improve the len's performance? Can you post any before/after comparison images?
Regards,
George

This is a really nice post with warm images of an interesting place. It reminds me of a wonderful song entitled Our Town by a remarkable artist, Iris Dement. This was the final song that played through the closing credits of the last episode of the popular 1990-95 TV show, Northern Exposure. The town in question was the fictional Cicely, Alaska. Here for your listing pleasure is Iris performing Our Town with the ever wonderful Emmalou Harris singing backup - a classic! Enjoy... CLICK HERE TO LISTEN

Saturday, January 23, 2016 10AM - view from my Hatfield, Pennsylvania front door. Kind of pretty, isn't it? Same Saturday, 4:30 PM after the first 24 inches of snow have been blown from driveway. Sunday afternoon after shoveling the 6 inch overnight additional deposit. After clearing - views from the bottom of the drive.
