Peter, I probably got the number wrong, it's been a long time since I used it. I did find, however, that it was an Eastman Color film, the process was ECN-2, and that it had a coating that had to be stripped off before it went through the developer. It was left over movie film that was cut and loaded into 35mm casettes for re-sale. Has anyone else out there ever used it?

Peter, Is that Eastman Color the same film that places like Seattle Film Works sold ? They would advertise that you could get prints & slides from the same negative. I think it was called Eastman 5647 or something like that, and one could only get it processed through them. I remember it being advertised as the same film used in movies.

Hi Andy! Your link works fine. Are those photos actual slides, or are they mounted movie film frames? I know that slide and movie films would change color somewhat with age, I think I read somewhere that Kodachrome would turn red. I don't really know a lot about what vintage color films do with age. My guess would be a chemical shift, but don't take my word for it. I know more about what wood does. Neat pics though, no matter what color they are Doug

Hi All! I was in an antique shop today, and found a booth with 20-30 old photo magazines from the late 40's to early 50's. Mostly Pop Photo with a couple of U.S. Camera included. Price was 2 and 3 USD each. I only had enough cash on hand to get a couple (I don't like to use a card if I don't have to), but I bought a few, including Pop Photo annuals from 1948 and 1953. A little reading material for the weekend. I'm really fond of old photo literature, even though my wife says that they smell musty. As long as it's not ME that smells musty, I won't be banished to a shelf in the garage Doug

Dave, I visited Paris in the mid to late 80's and had a great time! I can still remember laying on the grass in the park at the base of the Tower. A wonderful time in my life, but as to the last shot, were you peeking up out of a manhole or had you just got run over by a car Doug

Mik, The buildings were torn down a couple of years ago to make room for a small business incubator. We do, however, have an extensive collection in the local museum, and a lot of vintage ansco items in the area antique shops. I read somewhere, I can't remember where though, that Ansco / GAF was the only film manufacturer to win an Academy Award. I have quite a few friends who used to work there. I really like the Compact, it's got a neat 80's look to it Doug

Hi MIK ! Those are nice cameras you've got there. I have a real soft spot for anything from Agfa / Ansco. Quite a few Agfa cameras were manufactured not 10 miles from where I live. Ansco had it's base and manufacturing facilities right here in Binghamton, and quite a lot of Ansco equipment was just re-badged Agfa. I should start an Ansco/Agfa collection before they totally disappear Doug

Hi Bob! Here in the southern tier of NY, we've been getting a good soaking the last two days. I'm not sure where in the north east you are, but it's got to be coming your way. Hang in there!!

Hi guys! This gives me a whole new area to investigate, an interesting one to be sure! I've heard rumors that they are planning to tear the old depot down, so I need to get down there before they actually do! These days one has to work fast to beat the demolition teams.
Dave, I just read a small piece on the flight of Alcock and Brown (after you mentioned it), that stated that if Brown hadn't kept climbing out on the wing to knock the ice off of the engines' intakes, they wouldn't have made it. I wish sometimes that I had some of the nerves that those types of men had!

This tower was erected by G. Marconi in 1913 to test the possibility of transmitting telegraphic signals to moving trains on the Lackawanna RR. We sure have come a long way since then! It's located next to the old Lackawanna Station in Binghamton,NY. They've been trying to get passenger service back here for years; I certainly hope they do Doug

Dave, That French church looks totally abandoned. It's very photogenic looking. Most of the buildings here don't seem to have been built to last. It's a real shame, but as soon as they're empty, the windows get broken out, they get covered in gang tags, and no one takes care of them anymore. Some of the most beautiful buildings are in the most run-down parts of town. On the other hand, there are some real gems to be discovered if one takes the time to search for them.

Mickey, That sounds like a great idea. I only hope that he gets along with the dog and cats that have adopted us. Maybe I could rent one as needed.

Hi Ron! You're absolutely right! It doesn't even mention squash, just yellow. Small wonder I was so confused Dave, what's a courgette? Doug
