Hi Walker, Yes, some Topcons used Exakta mount. I believe the Super D did for sure and probably others. I have a 135 f2.8 that is Topcon mount I bought specifically for one of my Exakta cameras and for some reason it doesn't fit either. If I remember properly it has an extra pin of some sort. The lens I bought uses the Exakta mount but the pin to fire the lens is on the wrong side of the body and fires via a pin coming out from the camera body rather than depressing the pin on the lens like an Exakta. Definitely Mamiya Prismat, now the search begins for a body.....

As so often happens when you eBay recklessly I bid on and won another new lens. I always follow auctions of Sears/ Tower/Montgomery Wards camera equipment as most of it is just rebadged equipment by major manufacturers and since nobody else bids I get good equipment dirt cheap. Problem is this time I bid on both a Tower 37 SLR and assuming the seller's other lens went with the camera I bid on it too. Got home too late to snipe the camera (oops) but found I'd won the lens. When it arrived I found a nice Mamiya-Sekor FC f1.7 58mm w/Exakta style mount (#900116) which according to Ron's excellent site (Thank you Sir) means I now need to add one more body/lens system to my collection, a Mamiya Prismat or Tower 32. Ahhh, the perils of ebidding without research first LOL. Anyhow, just had to relate and tease Ron as it looks mint with original front and back caps and smooooth semi-automatic diaphragm.

Good score there Randy and nice to see Freda's acquired another camera too. Chinon Genesis, Ricoh Mirai and Konica Samurai are all decent cameras, if a little complicated to learn. Personally I really like Hippy Straps and have managed to collect close to 15 of them over the eons. I find a bit of brassing makes a camera look authentic and adds character but I agree it doesn't do much for collector value. You could always use those durn leather deals that usually come with these straps. As I've seen waaaay too many leather straps rip with age, I take all those leather bits off right away along with ready to use cases and those useless nylon straps. I've always hated those things most of all.

Wow Peter, when you get lucky you REALLY get lucky. Nice haul, both with the SLR's and point 'n shoots. Sounds like we're in for a few new pictures??

Poorhouse here too Randy. Finally got the Praktica IV I've been searching for. I already have one I received in a box lot but it's missing the back so pretty useless till now. Slowed my bidding down and now I only bid on "gotta have" equipment, like the Fujica F801 I'm stalking.

Nice score Dave. Personally I love dealing with low feedback sellers as they are eager to please, not bitter or grouchy like some older jaded sellers, and best of all as you've discovered nobody else bids against you so better chance of getting that one great deal.

Hi John, Only the Ricoh TLS 401 has both waist level and eye level finders. Hope this helps.

C'mon John, You know you want that ZE and what's one more lens system right? Watch the watch, you are getting sleepy, veeeery sleepy. You will immediately search for a ZE on the dread E site and begin the slippery slide into yet another lens system. All kidding aside, I have both a ZE and ZE quartz and like them very much. Darn you Ron Herron, it's all your fault. (That last part was to appease my wife who just loves to sneak a parting peek over my shoulder while I'm on the 'puter.)

Nice buy Peter. I've bought a few E's myself (would you believe I've got 7 but only 5 work?) but not at prices like yours. I know how the Zenit acquiring bug can get under your skin. At the asking price they're quite a bargain. I have 24 so far myself.

Nice package Walker. Great to get all those Pentax lenses in one kit. I tend to buy kits more often now too, but usually get camera body, a 50mm, vintage hippy strap, generic 135mm and/or 80-200 store brand zoom. I have several M42 Pentax Takumar 50mm's, both semi automatic and automatic, two 135 Super Takumars, a 200 f 4 Super Takumar and a 35 Super Takumar but every 28mm Super Takumar I bid on I get outbid. Guess I'm just a wee bit too cheap.

Nice catch Randy. I paid the same for a Vivitar 220 SL minus lens and shutter cocking lever. Luckily I had spare parts available and one or two extra lens lying around. Great old hippy strap too. I can never get enough of those.

Good cameras Heath. I think you'll like the MTL 3 if you're into Prakticas, I know I like mine and I have 3. Guess I like them a bit too much.

I can relate to the older Tokina lenses having more of a quality feel Wayne. I have a Tokina 135 f2.8 m42, Tokina 80-200 f4 PK (x2), Tokina 28-200 f3.5 PK, Tokina 80-200 f4.5 MD, Tokina 35-105 f3.5 OM, Tokina 28 f2.8 T mount, Tokina 80-200 f4 Konica, Tokina 28 f2.8 EL Nikon, and Tokina 45 Exakta. I really like the feel of the old pre-set M42 version although it is slower to use and inevitably you'll take a shot or two forgetting to stop down the aperture after focussing.
