I too am a collector of writing instruments. I have been doing it for a long time and have several hundred fountain pens and mechanical pencils. My favorites are the Parker 51s. I carry one all the time. That is a nice Cross pen you got, I have some Cross fountain pens and they are quality pens, but not many are great writers. I like the prices at the Wonderpens web site, just wish they would ship to the US. I use fountain pens a lot but also like mechanical pencils and wish that some good pen company would make a new model of a combo pen/pencil. They only seem to make new pens that are more jewelry than user pens. ....Fred

Attachment DeletedTurns out it is someone's home made version of flash sync. I took the camera front off to see what it looked like inside and saw that someone had made this. Apparently a 5 inch 2 conductor rod is inserted that makes one contact on one side and another on the other side. Both sides have wires that go on inside the camera to, I guess, a switch that's made somehow by the shutter. I have been in contact with Bruce Thomas in Australia who has a Graflex web site and he agrees that is is a flashbulb sync device.

Attachment DeletedI bought this last week at an antique show in Florida. This is a 3/14 x 4 1/4 model. Looking online I can't seem to find another one that has the hole on the right side like this one has. See the hex shape above the focusing knob. There is also a clip like thing on the other side inside, so I figure something long and round fit in there all the way across above the bellows. Too early for a flash? Any ideas?

I have been collecting old digitals for about 4 years now. I mostly get mine at garage sales or thrift stores. I rarely pay more than $5, and lots of them cost me $1. I have over 100 different ones now. Here is a picture I made of about 50 of them 2 years ago. Attachment Deleted

Thanks for the replies, but does anyone know why it says RESTHERE on one side?

I have an object that I have had a long time, most likely came from a yard sale and I don't know what it is used for. It is obviously a roller of some kind but for what? It says KODAK on one side and RESTHERE on the other side. It is 11 and 1/2 inches wide and is threaded with at 3/8 16 for something to attach to it. The roller can be replaced by removing one of the screws in the ends. Roller appears to be rubber. Any ideas? Attachment Deleted

Here is one that I took. I had to wait until the moon cleared the trees in my backyard to see it and it was pretty high in the sky by then.

For years I have been saving pictures of my family and friends taking pictures. I finally put some of them together and had a print made. The print is 20x30 inches and I had Sam's Club do it for me. I was very pleased with the finished product. I have it framed and so far people have been real nice saying it is interesting. Here is a very much reduced copy of it. I made most of these pictures, but lots were from other family members, some are pretty old.

I know this won't help you but my version of the 500 is serial number EK713755, and of course says Made in Germany.
