Dave: That is so true. Not much is in order when it comes to Minolta. The XE came before the XD then they went to the XG. Guess they didn't need a XF.

If I can mention that I bought the Minolta SR 101 from Roberts off of EvilBay. I did find another SR 101 sold from Roberts, January 22 2015. It was labeled wrong also as a SRT 101. Sorry to hear about your viewfinder in the XE1. Glad it still works good for you. I like the look of all XE models. Maybe on day I'll buy one.

David: I have a Minolta SR1. It does have the same film advance and rewind as the first year SR7. The SR7 with no cut off from 1962. I'm just guessing mine is a SR1 from 63. My quick story on collecting is. Back a couple years ago the oldest Minoltas I was aware of was the XG line and after. I saw my first SRT and went after it. The look of the SRT just caught my eye and I was hooked. I do collect other Minolta's and other brand cameras. I enjoy chrome cameras of several brands. So you could say its a chrome thing but Minoltas are my favorite. I do enjoy the Rokkor lenses even the Celtic's. Lenses are what I need more of now. By the way this is a great site on asking how to fix camera issues. The members are always helpful.

I did read a story at Photo.net earlier trying to find info on the SR 101. A girls father had brought one over from Japan. IT was a very nice black version. Yep bet those are pretty common. LOL

lesdmess: All my Minoltas are in working condition. Some with minor problems. The only Minolta I have that don't work is a Minolta X9. I suspect a capacitor problem.

I bought the Minolta SR 101 off the bay from a camera store. The camera was labeled SR-1. But when I looked at the camera it self it said SR 101. Guess the camera shop was confused. I was confused the ,T, was missing. I had to look it up on the Rokkor Files. Found out it was the Japanese version of the 201.

philbirch: You got some nice Minoltas there. I like the XE-1 you have. That's the same as a Minolta XE-7 I believe. The XG-1 you don't have pictured got me hooked on Minolta's. My dad bought a XG-1 in the early 80s. I have never owned one though. I hope to add more Minoltas and other classic cameras in the future. My girlfriend says I have a camera collecting disorder. I tell her I have no problem collecting cameras(-:

Hello to all members. I just won a Minolta SR 101 body only off the Bay for $18.10. From what I found out this is the Japanese version of the 201. I am still waiting on it but it's the 1975-77 model. Here in the United States I have seen more European/Asian 101B versions for sale. Does any one on here have the SR 101 model and are they rare in the states?
Thank you, Dennis

I had to do an adjustment to the meter on the SRT. I took off the bottom cover an adjusted the resistor. Now the meter matches my other SRT and a Pentax. My problem is when I got the meter set right it threw off the BC (battery check). So I adjusted the other resistor for the battery. The needle will not come down far enough on the BC. It is way above what it should read. Is it possible that I messed up the resistor? Good thing is the meter is now accurate(-:

Thanks Steven for the information. Had some hope it was a rare. Still an interesting version even if its just marketed for Japan.

I am watching a Minolta SR-7. I need someone on here that knows a lot about them. This one has Chiyoda Kogaku written on top by the film crank. The serial number is on the back not on top. The number 7 is smaller than other SR-7s. The only cameras I have seen with Chiyoda Kogaku are the SR-2 SR-3 and early SR-1. The first Minolta SR-7s that don't have a turn off switch on the bottom say Minolta Camera Co... on the top. This camera has the switch on the bottom and had Chiyoda Kogaku on the top. With the meter swith it has to be at least a 1963. By that time they were no longer called Chiyoda Kogaku I thought. So is this camera a rarity or a rarity fake? I my self find it interesting.

Rick
I have a Minolta SR-1. The timer on it I can set it push the button. It is not strong enough to pull down the shutter button. On my Minolta SRT 101. The timer lever was pulled down when I bought it. Push the little button to start the timer. I does nothing.

Thank you all for your responses and help. The self timer does not work on the SRT 101. I can live with that. Rick you have a great camera collection. I have a very small collection. 1977 Minolta SRT SC-II , 1968 Minolta SRT 101 with the black shutter speed knob ,1963 Minolta SR-1. 1961 Agfa Ambi Silette. Also a Pentax K1000 on the way. When I get the Pentax I will post some photos of my collection.
