That was a quite unusual weekend on ebay UK! I had been watching a very interesting (to me) Konica FP-1 starter set in a box. It consisted of a FP-1 body, 50mm f1.8, 28mm f3.5, 135mm f3.5, 2x converter, autowinder, flash and ever ready case. A day before it ended the seller reduced the price, then I was just about to put in a late bid for it and 2 minutes before the listing ended the seller withdrew it from sale. A couple of hours later I bid on what looks to be a nice T3 with 50mm lens.I won it for £6.50. Later on a Tamron Adaptall mount for Konica AR fell, (I have two Tamron zooms) then this morning a cheap autowind for the AutoReflex TC went into my mitts. So I think the FP-1 seller did me a big favour.....Because I wouldn't have gone for the T3 or the other two items..

The Yashica FX-D has not arrived. The 'delivery' service state that it was delivered today. It wasn't, I was indoors keeping a look out for that and another parcel. Apparently it was signed for, it might have been, but certainly not by me. I have seen the tracking, delivered and signed for! When I went to my next door neighbour's in the vain hope that it might have gone there, I told him that I was waiting for an old camera and that I collected them, he gave me a quite good Zenit EM still with a film in! So, I suppose I had better keep it.
The Yashica arrived Monday afternoon, the 'courier' knew nothing about the confusion. Tuesday, I have had an apology from the delivery company. The annoying thing is that I bought the camera and paid for it to be delivered by Royal Mail. The seller has saved a few pence, caused the delivery to be approx 6 days late and put me to some trouble.

This morning the Voigtlander Vitomatic 2 arrived from an eBay auction. I have a really nice Vito B already. The Vitomatic has a working exposure meter, at least the needle moves freely and the rangefinder appears to be accurate. Clean inside and out.
It has the Color Skopar f2.8 lens and a not very nice ever ready case, but not bad for £2.25
I still prefer the simple compact look of the early Vito B with the small viewfinder though.

I put one 35mm film through my local Boots store for developing and printing. Very disappointed with the quality. I suspect that they are not doing enough volume to keep the machines working efficiently. I don't know if it is the negatives at fault or the printing or both because I can't get my scanner working. Won't use them again.

Thanks for that, Bob. I have a very clean Konica Autoreflex TC. The previous owner said that he had put only two films through it and I can believe that. I didn't really start collecting Konica, I bought a Konica fit Sun Actinon 24mm lens cheap, because any 24mm lens in a 'popular' mount is very expensive compared with 28mm etc. and started looking for a Konica Body. Which found me a cheap poor but working Autoreflex TC which I sold on after cleaning it and replacing the door seals. I then decided I liked the FS-1 because of its 'feel'.
I will be looking out for a good T3 on the strength of your advice.

Now, I have a good complete working FC-1, the body of the one I cleaned up has gone off to a new home, less the 1.8 50mm lens which I kept. A Konica FT-1 body has just arrived, condition very good and everything works unlike the FS-1 which just works most of the time . Even has the instruction manual and a set of AAA batteries in it, needs new light seals, but I just love the look and feel of it. Good value at less than £20.00 I think. Now, do I really want an FC-1 ? Perhaps a program only Konica might be a disappointment, but, if it is cheap...................!

Thank you Bob, you know I live in the UK? I will measure the cap/cover up when it arrives and describe it, or photograph the remains!. R.

I have just bought a FX-D from eBay for a very low price. It hasn't arrived yet, so cannot comment on it, but I do know that the battery cover has been chewed up.
If the camera is alright I will be looking for, perhaps another donor camera, so, does anyone know if it is a Yashica item only fitting the FX-D, or perhaps will the cover from, for example the FX -3 fit. (or FR series?) Thanks in anticipation.

Just bought another Yashica Body from eBay. A FX-D - It looks good in the picture, the body covering, for once, is intact and the seller says that it is working, but doubtful about the meter. The battery cover is also chewed up............. Willing to take a chance at £0.99p.

Saw this on ebay last week. I found some good reports of its optical performance in two different places. So I bid for it. Won it for £0.99p. with a low postage charge. It arrived yesterday, looks to be a nice lens.

I have had one or two problems with ebay recently (been buying and selling on there for 9 years.) One was particularly bad. This was all over a defective £2 exposure meter. The heading of the description said 'Excellent' Further down, it was the good old cheat's let-out 'untested'. When I found that the meter didn't work I was quite happy to keep it, but just sent a message saying that it didn't work, but not returning it. The abuse and threats were unbelievable. I knew that the seller's address were 120 miles away, but I was really worried this went on for about a week , I ended up by saying, if you hadn't tested it how do you know the item is excellent?. I contacted ebay, they acted, but wouldn't say what they had done. So eventually I was concerned about leaving feedback, but I did. There were more thrats, and eventually I had to contact the Police about the abuse.

This morning I went down to my local small car boot sale. Something black and silver in a box, on a table, I picked it up and before I even knew what it was the stall holder said "You can have that for 50p. mate!" So I said yes and when I closed the lid and saw the top of the box it said 'Leitz filmaufspuler' so I gave him the 50p. and left. It is a winder for 35mm stock into film cassettes and designed to be screwed to a workbench. Now on ebay!
Edited, mistake in Name of item!
Sold yesterday for £50. Possibly could have got more for it, but didn't want to keep relisting it.

Seem to be getting to be a collector of Konica! I have just bought a rather sad looking FC-1 off eBay as a non-runner (dirty and no hot shoe). The f1.8 50 mm lens actually looks quite good now it has arrived. I have cleaned the body up, slipped the battery holder out, cleaned the green mess off it, disposed of the old batteries, tweaked the contacts, inserted four market bought ones (about 5p. each) and off we go. Seems to work perfectly at all speeds. The only thing needed now is a hot shoe, so looking for one (not necessarily) Konica. Isolated the wires, so anything 20mm x 17mm will do. I also have another very much delayed FC-1 kit on the way. Edit. Update. This did not arrive, the eBay seller, from Ashford UK says he sent it twice! Then said he had added some filters to make up for the delay, could not prove he had sent it. I have had all my money returned, so beware. I do like the feel of these cameras, FS-1 and FC-1, now looking for a FT-1 perhaps!
Now replaced the light seals, this is one of the first of the series I have seen that still has the remote release cap still fitted.
I will put a film through it next week........The results are fine. Now I really want a cheap FT-1, a non-runner will do as long a it looks good.

Thanks for that, Lloydy I will try using the 1mm thick foam as that seems to be the thinnest available.
